Moto in the Mountains / Mammoth 2019

Once a year they open to gates to one of the most unique race tracks in existence. For a week and a half in June, they allow the promoters of Mammoth Motocross to host some of the best amateur racing of the year. This year we drove up to support one of our sponsored riders Dillon Ford.

Unlike most of the other amateur races, all of the riders have to qualify for their spot to race Mammoth. Most of the classes are packed with racers and you are almost guaranteed to have a full gate of around 40 riders.

The fact that everyone has to qualify makes the racing very competitive in even the lower "C" classes. Our rider Dillon Ford had a great start in the first heat and held the 5th place position until he bent his shifter and was unable to change gears for the remainder of the race.

At the end of the day, Dillon finished just outside of a qualifying position. Even though he wasn't able to get a top place finish, Dillon was all smiles. Mammoth offers more than just racing. The experience you get while up in the mountains is distinct and unique. The memories you make with your friends and family are the most important, the results are just an added bonus.
